About Hannah

I grew up in rural Pennsylvania as a Quaker, deeply rooted in silent prayer. At age 33 I was baptized and joined the Episcopal Church. Within a few years, my parish helped me discern a call to ordained ministry which I pursued with a young family in tow to Sewanee, TN. I first served as a hospital chaplain and then as a parish priest over the past ten years. Currently I serve as Rector at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Pittsfield, Massachusetts where I view my priestly ministry as an inherently creative one. The parish is a Jubilee Center, focused on mission, outreach, the arts, and children.  I am delighted to have been called to St. Stephen’s in November, 2005 as their new Rector.

My active life has always benefited from quiet solitude and creativity with the arts. While my background is in bilingual and special educations, I always integrated my work with creativity. First with clay, then with fibers/cloth and now with watercolor-design, movement and color have all played a role in my developing artwork.

When my sons, David and Christopher, were younger they helped the creative process stay alive for me because of their innate desire to create and explore. That 'child-like' wonder was rekindled for me through a workshop led by Michele Cassou, an artist from France who helps people follow their intuition through painting. I continue to follow her 'process painting' discipline along with daily prayer.

Our children are grown now. My husband, Bob, is a hospital chaplain and CPE supervisor. Together we are growing into a 'middle season of life' with deep joy and wonder, keenly aware that we have been blessed with vital ministries and abundant life.

My blessing cup is overflowing! It's time to share with others. Thank you for being part of the blessing that will flow to children in need.

"When we live with grateful hearts, we have more than enough."
